“Zanarkand”, also known as “To Zanarkand”, “At Zanarkand”, or “In Zanarkand”, is the Main Theme of Final Fantasy X, composed by Nobuo Uematsu. The theme is first played during the game’s opening, which shows Tidus and the others at the ruins of Zanarkand as they prepare to fight their final battle. This theme shares the greatest importance in the soundtrack, along with “Suteki da ne”, being played at various significant plot events in the game, typically rearranged and under different titles, such as “Movement in Green”, “The Truth Revealed” and a large part of Final Fantasy X’s “Ending Theme.” Uematsu got the idea of the tune for the opening theme from a flutist he consulted for help. He requested the tune to be used in Final Fantasy X and coaxed the team in using it for certain event scenes, but they weren’t convinced. In the end, they decided to try using it on the opening screen and Uematsu was surprised it was just perfect for it. In the end, the theme together with “Suteki da ne” became the game’s main theme, something Uematsu still finds hard to believe.

Once Brahne had gained the ability to summon through the use of mystical stones extracted from Garnet, and had a large enough Black Mage army, she set out to wage war on neighboring kingdoms. She successfully destroyed both Burmecia and Cleyra, and greatly damaged Lindblum Castle.

Vamo’ Alla Flamenco

Our incredible sword fighting/Chocobo Hot and Cold theme. First played when Zidane and Blank duke it out with a mini-game in front of the crowd in the beginning of the game! Later it becomes the Chocobo Hot and Cold theme <3.

A fitting title. Essentially Queen Brahne’s theme, which generally plays when she speaks, or makes decisions such as when she orders Zorn and Thorn to use the ‘combat ready experiments’ to retrieve Garnet alive.

Awakened Forest

This is an incredibly atmospheric piece. First played in the “Evil Forest” after you crash the Prima Vista. It’s a wondrous theme to casually listen to and extremely nostalgic for some people.

Crossing Those Hills

This may hit a nostalgic weak spot for some people. Heard on the world map, whether you’re just casually walking across those plains to Lindblum, Oeilvert, or the Black Mage Village, you’ll almost always here this. I could listen to this for hours on end just as I already have <3
